Alexandra's Purple Case Study

I did my case study on the purple mattress. A mattress that you can only buy online.

Your Sleep is priceless. Purple is the worlds most comfortable mattress (it's science). Provides comfort and support.

It started in Grantsville, Utah. 10 years ago in the wheelchair business, to prevent bedsores for those sitting all day. The founders are two brothers who noticed a shift in the mattress space that was headed online. 3 Years ago they decided to capitalize on the trend by using the same technology in their wheelchair cushioning to make their own bedding.

Purple launched a series of videos to demonstrate the science behind the mattress and received over 100 million views. In the last year purple has jumped from a team of 30 employees to 600, with sales being through the roof. The CEO believes to be becoming the next billion dollar startup in the region.

Marketing In The News


Disney announced that they are possibly going to only allow the club level guests to purchase the special fast pass tickets to allow their wait time to become shorter. It would cause a family vacation to disney a heck of a lot more money to become a club level guest. And if they chose not to go with that option they would be paying the price of having to spend more time in long waiting lines for the rides. Main point is they would be making a lot more money off of the public for them to avoid the inconvenience of having to wait in long lines. I've been learning that so many businesses are constantly searching for new and more ways to create more money.

I'm taking business classes to better my knowledge in owning/running a business. Along with building my knowledge in marketing. I work for my dad at a professional graphic design business. I want to learn advanced marketing skills to better our business but also assist our clients in their marketing goals.

I am passionate about the outdoors. I spend a lot of my free time hiking, hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors.
